Holy Batman!

So Chris and I finally got to see The Dark Knight (we took turns going since we just couldn't seem to manage a time to go together without kids). I LOVED it!

It's crazy seeing Christian Bale in such a role, but he does a brilliant job. Despite the fact that I have seen him in several movies that I really liked (Batman Begins, The Prestige, A Midsummer's Night Dream), I still can't get the picture out of my head of him as little Jamie in Empire of the Sun and my mom crying her eyes out over him (love you, Mom!).

That is how I remember Christian Bale too - Empire of the Sun. A staple of the Barrowes family. And I know - he is so brilliant in this movie.

Oh - and I can't forget (was it Swingtime or just Swing) and Newsies I loved him in - embarrassing maybe, but true.

Did mom ever tell you why she always cried in that movie? Apparently, christian bale reminded her of me.

Too bad there aren't more similarities i.e. fame, loads of money, a Triumph TR6. That's okay, we love our ubersquirrel anyway!

I have never paid much attention to movie stars so I did not realize that Christian Bale was that new Batman and also Jamie. Batman have never been my favorite but now I will have to go see the movie.

And yes I did cry a lot in Empire of the Sun and I still do when I watch it.

And yes Jamie did remind me of Jason. This little kid who was intelligent, independent and had a lot of moxie. But in the end still needed his family. (How sappy of a paragraph is this?)

You know, nikki, I might have loads of money, but people are so insincere these days.
"You saved my husband's life! How can I repay you!?!"
"How about all your worldly possession?"
"..."
"So you love your money more than your husband?"
"..."
I tell you people will say anything but won't pay up.

I have not seen batman begins yet, but I cannot deny that I do love Christain Bale in Empire of the Sun. I'd have to put in for newsies too.

Next time we will babysit your kids so you can see a movie TOGETHER
